BREAST AUGMENTATION

Breast augmentation or enlargement, using either saline or silicon implants, is most commonly performed in a woman aged 20-40 who have finished child-bearing. Following pregnancy, the breast gland and fullness decreases smaller while the skin is less elastic; this results in a deficiency in volume which can be restored by insertion of an implant.

In younger patients, augmentation can improve birth defects or different shapes and size (which can create significant psychological effects).
